Good Friday - March 30th @ home worship/reflection
"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters." (1 John 3:16)
We want to provide you with an opportunity to have an intimate experience of reflection and worship in your own home with your family or friends. Below you will find a "worship guide" to help walk you through this experience either individually, with your spouse, your children or maybe even a small group of friends.
Good Friday Worship Experience:
READ: Luke 22:66-23:56 (Bible Gateway Passage link: Luke 22
REFLECT on the Trial and Crucifixion of Christ. - Jesus Christ died in our place. It was our sin for which He paid the price upon the cross. It was our sin which was buried with Him in the tomb. Are you in need of confession to Christ for an area of personal sin?
- The Roman Government and Jewish Religious Leaders put Christ on a cross as a way to end the power of his influence among the people. However, Christ was willing to endure suffering if God the Father would use it for His Kingdom. The crucifixion, by which sinners are purified before God, became the central focus of Jesus's life purpose. How might God be calling you to allow Him to use your suffering as means of expanding His Kingdom? Are you willing to pray Jesus' prayer "not my will, but your's be done"?
- With the tearing of the Temple Curtain, the presence of God's Holiness was "released" among the people. How have you taken advantage of this blessing in your own life to intentionally enter the presence of God the Father?
